THE NEW VALENCES

We asked a friend of ours, Lance Johnson, if he would be willing to make valences for our windows.  He said yes, but I am sure he now wishes he would have declined!  What a job.  He worked on them for over six weeks; then Bob sanded them all which was about a three day job!  Then Bob and I stained and varnished - this wouldn't have been so bad if we would have known what we were doing, but neither of us had ever done finish work before.  So all in all I think they tuned out pretty spectacular!

I just love them and think they finish off the spare room and living room.  Can't thank Lance enough for building them for us, and both Lance and Stein for helping hang them.

The weather has been beautiful the last few days so Shirlie took advantage and had us over for pizza.

Had to take these pictures with Bob's phone because I forgot my camera.  We love this weather; unfortunately it is suppose to cool down by the first of next week.

VISIT TO THE GRASSLANDS

Sunday we went with Colleen and Stein over to Patagonia and then on to the grasslands looking for a Kite (the bird kind not the string kind).

We stopped at the rest stop just before Patagonia to look for other birds.
