LAST OF THE SUMMER PARTIES

Jacke had the last of the "summer parties" on Tuesday night. The snowbirds are heading back.  Marg and Norm as well as Lynn and Del should be here by the end of the month.  Even Doc and Jean are coming for a few days.  Patsy and Ron are off to Hawaii for a couple of weeks, and Scott has gone to Wisconsin to play golf!

An almost full moon

The mountains were pink!

Beautiful sunset (notice all the pigeons on the fireplace cap)

We are keeping Miss Redbird while Patsy and Ron are gone, and the day after they get back they get to have Boomer while Bob and I meet the Idaho gang at Lake Powell.

It has been a "nice" summer (2nd hottest on record!), and we will be happy to see everyone when they return.

MONSOON 2013

The monsoon is winding down, and I have to say I'm sorry to see it go.  For those who have never experienced a monsoon season, you have missed a very special time here in the desert.

Below are pictures I took on our walk Monday morning. There had been rain during the night and every thing was dewy and green plus the clouds were still hanging low.

In the evening blue sky tried to breakthrough, but there were still plenty of clouds to make for interesting skies.

It hasn't been the wettest monsoon on record, but a pretty good one never the less.

WELCOME HOME

Last night we had a welcome home party for Shirlie.  She had been in Coeur d' Alene for six weeks and missed all the parties we had had during that time (so we had to make it up to her).

The weather had been "iffy" all day, but it mellowed long enough for us to have cocktails on the patio.

Another successful party with everyone contributing to the feast!  Thanks everyone for a great evening.

LABOR DAY GET TOGETHER

The summer group got together last night at Barbara's house to celebrate Labor Day.  Okay, none of us labor too much anymore, but we still celebrated!

The weather started out cloudy so sitting outside for cocktails was perfect.

We moved indoors for hot dogs, brats, salads, and dessert!  Another great evening.

This morning the sky was amazing so - even though I was in my jammies - I went out and took some pictures.

The monsoon is winding down, but hopefully we'll have a few more days with these kind of skies.
