SUMMER VACATION 2011 (PART VI)

After Boise we went to Twin Falls for a few days. We stayed with Vickey and Craig.
This is Vickey and Craig's house.  Their view is spectacular!

The first night there, Kathy and Terry came down for drinks! and dinner.

A very serious discussion.

Boomer wondering "What the heck!"
 Craig and Terry made salsa.
Lime in the eye?

Out on the deck.
Thursday night we went to visit Doc and Jean in Buhl.

Friday night.  We're making hors d'oeuvres.

Having dinner.
Jody's birthday was the week before so we had a late celebration.

Exercising!
There is a private 9-hole golf course down in the canyon. It's a beautiful setting.
There is still more to come.

SUMMER VACATION 2011 (PART V)

We were busy in Boise:  Some of the other things we did.

Jarod and Katie invited us out for dinner one night.  We had a great dinner and conversation; and Jazz loved Grandpa Bob!

We went to lunch one day with Emilee, my niece, and her two daughters, Ellie and Sophia.  Katie, Cari and Jordan joined us.

That evening we met Katie, Cari and Michelle at Murphy's for two-fers.

There's still more to come!

SUMMER VACATION 2011 (PART IV)

While we were in Boise we visited Kathryn Albertson Park.

The flowers were beautiful

A close up view

The lily pads were taking over

Wood Ducks

These ducks were following us hoping for a treat!
Blue Heron

This house sits above the park and was once owned by Joe Albertson

Boise has many nice parks, but we think this one is the best.

SUMMER VACATION 2011 (PART III)

Long time between Blogs.  They switched the way you do the blog and I just learned how!  Should catch up now!!

While we were in Boise we went to the Saturday Farmer's Market a couple of times.  On this Saturday, Katie's high school friend and her daughter were in town so we couldn't resist going again.
Jordan, Bob, Cari and Katie

Me, Jordan, Cari and Katie

Lots of people and things to see
The Tour de Fat parade was in full swing.  I had heard of  Tour de Fat, but never seen the parade.  It was something to behold.  There must have been a thousand people taking part in the parade and many more par-taking of the beer afterwards.

Me, Jordan, Cari and Bob watching the parade.

Some of the weirdest getup's I've ever seen!
A couple of the guys Bob worked with at Macy's had us over for a bbq.  We had a great evening with Bob's other "sons".  The food was terrific too!
Clark, Bob, Josh and, another Macy co-hort, Bill.
They even let me get in the picture!

SUMMER VACATION 2011 (PART II)

Below is the house we rented for our three weeks in Boise. Three bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a wonderful neighborhood! The neighborhood had walking paths throughout; and below is one of the parks we walked through every morning.
We sat on the patio - a lot! The backyard was beautiful with a pond and lots of shade trees. We found it quite funny that the second week we were there it was warmer in Boise than Green Valley! Go figure.
There were ponds along the walking path and most had ducks and geese; and lots of Bull frogs.
Jessica had us all out for a bbq one night. Below are seven of the eleven grandchildren.
Bob, Jason and Jarod. We'll get a picture of Justin and his family on our way home.
With Jessica.
All together.
More to come!!

OUR SUMMER VACATION 2011(PART I)

We left home on the 24th of July and headed to Winnemucca to stay with K.C's menagerie while he attended a wedding in Idaho Falls. Below a picture of K. C and Bob enjoying his backyard and ponds. K.C's backyard is really nice and he has two waterfalls; below is one of them.
A butterfly on a lillypad flower.
In his pond are many, many Koi. Below is one of the bigger ones. It was Bob's job to keep these big boys fed!
K.C also has Poison Dart frogs. They are interesting little creatures. I finally got one to come out of hiding so I could take his/her picture.
Unfortunately I didn't get one picture of Shylo; K.C's African Grey Parrot so just imagine a smaller Boomer! We had a good time at K.C's, but then it was on to Boise; which will be continued in the next blog.
